Maintaining good blood circulation in your legs with simple exercises is the first and easiest of the natural treatments for varicose veins and random bruises. Exercise at low intensity.

If you do not know where to start, try the following:

  • Go for a walk with your dog in the morning and again in the afternoon.
  • Step on an exercise bike for 25 minutes every day.
  • Do housework that requires you to walk a bit.
  • Go up and down the stairs in the morning and in the evening.

In addition to preventing your varicose veins, these exercises will help you keep your health healthy for many years.

2. Try wearing compression stockings

The second natural treatment to say goodbye to your varicose veins is perfect if they have already become a visible problem.

Compression stockings improve blood circulation because they maintain the natural shape of the legs and give them support. You can find them with high, low and medium compression in any pharmacy. When choosing your size, consider the following:

  • Low compression. Socks with low compression are ideal if your blood vessels are very small and few. They are very similar to the usual socks. You can wear them for just a few hours, or all day, depending on what you are comfortable with.
  • Medium compression. You should wear this type of sock if your varicose veins are not too large, but are visible at a glance. Put them on for at least 6 hours, especially when you walk and stand for a long time or do not do much physical activity.
  • High compression. Socks with high compression are for when you have clear varicose veins in addition to some bruises. Try to wear them for as long as you can throughout the day.

You may feel a little uncomfortable the first few days, especially if you wear high compression stockings. If you want, you can start using them a few hours at a time in the beginning and increase the time as you use them each week, until you feel comfortable.

You do not need a prescription to buy these socks and you can wash them as you would with any other sock. Feel free to hand wash them with a mild soap. They are a little more expensive than regular socks, but they are meant to last longer, so they are worth it.

If you do not want to buy these socks, but still want to benefit from the same effect, try tying your legs. This method is not as convenient or comfortable, but it can be cheaper.

3. Raise your legs from time to time to fight your varicose veins

legs along the walls

Another way to activate the blood circulation in your legs is by raising them up for a few minutes. To raise them, you can:

  • Lie down on your bed and place your legs up along a wall or on two or three pillows.
  • Sit down with an armchair and place your legs on the armrests.
  • Sit on the floor and place your feet on the seat of a chair.

You should keep your legs in this position for a maximum of 20 minutes, and then slowly lower your legs so as not to injure yourself. You should never sleep all night in such a position as when you put your legs down, you may feel pain when the blood circulates back down into your legs.

Try this exercise at least once a day. Ideally, you should do it three times a day if you have those troublesome varicose veins.

What do you think of these natural treatments? Put them into practice and your legs will look good without complications.
