Although commonly used to season ribs or chicken, barbecue sauce has become popular with most meat products, and has even become a substitute for tomato sauce on some pizzas.

Recipe 1

They say that the best accessories are homemade because they are much healthier. That’s why it’s great to learn how to make barbecue sauce. Hopefully you will like it because you can add it to any recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jaggery (120 g)
  • 2 tablespoons  soy sauce  (30 ml)
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce (60 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar (45 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (45 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder (15 g)
  • 1 cup water (250 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (8 g)

Cooking

  • Put jaggery in a frying pan with a cup of water and heat it over medium heat. Stir until it thickens.
  • Then add the soy sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar while stirring constantly.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and add oil, salt and garlic. Stir again so that all the ingredients are mixed together.
  • Finally, spread the barbecue sauce on the meat and place it on the grill.

Recipe 2

For this recipe you do not need to cook the sauce. It is also perfect to wear on chicken wings, ribs and juicy steaks.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey (30 g)
  • 1/2 cup water (125 ml)
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce (15 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons tomato sauce (60 ml)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (30 mL)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (30 ml)
  • 1 pinch of salt (5 g)
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice (30 ml)
  • 2 garlic cloves

Cooking

  • Start by taking a medium bowl and mix the tomato sauce with honey and water.
  • Then add soy sauce, chili sauce and Worcestershire sauce and stir a little.
  • Then add the salt, the crushed garlic cloves and the pineapple juice. Stir again so that flavors mix together.
  • Finally,  brush the meat with the grill sauce and place it on the grill. Enjoy!

Ribs brushed with barbecue sauce

Did you know that you can  add vegetables to the barbecue sauce to give it a better taste? Although not traditional, it’s a great addition!

Ingredients

  • 2 onions (200 g)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped paprika (15 g)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (30 g)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (30 mL)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (15 ml)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (15 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce (30 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar (60 ml)
  • 2 spoons of honey (30 ml)
  • 1 tbsp  olive oil  (15 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (8 g)
  • 1 tbsp salt (15 g)
  • 1/4 cup water (60 ml)

Cooking

  1. To begin with,  cut the onions into small pieces and sauté them in a little olive oil, salt and brown sugar until soft and caramelized.
  2. Then add the tomato sauce along with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, peppers, Dijon mustard, honey, vinegar and black pepper. Stir so that everything mixes well.
  3. Then  add some water to dilute the sauce.
  4. Cover the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes, remove from the heat and wait for it to cool slightly.
  5. Use it on the meat and enjoy!
