Is Coffee Healthy Every Day?

Many studies have shown that drinking coffee every day is healthy for health. For years, people have avoided coffee because they believed that caffeine was harmful to the body. Nevertheless, new studies, year after year, have continued to confirm that coffee is healthy.

A few studies have indicated that coffee has a positive effect in both the treatment and prevention of diseases.  Like diabetes, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The positive effect of coffee and many benefits are constantly being revealed in new studies. A study conducted by the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda (Maryland, USA), published in Hepatology.  S tad confirms that drinking coffee has positive effects on the liver.

To conduct the study, scientists used data from the United States National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES 1999-2010) and selected 27,793 participants aged 20 years and older. Volunteers filled out a survey about their coffee habits and the researchers tested the blood and measured various markings for liver function. The purpose of this study was to find out if those who drank three cups or more of coffee each day.  Had lower liver enzyme levels compared to those who did not drink coffee.

The researchers found that the coffee’s other ingredients, in addition to caffeine, contributed to better liver health if consumed in moderation.

Reduce the risk of fatty liver and fibrosis with coffee

Another study, which was also published in Hepatology.  Showed that drinking coffee significantly reduced the risk of accumulating connective tissue in the liver (fibrosis), for patients suffering from fatty liver that is not caused by alcohol.

The study found that the caffeine in coffee can reduce the formation of connective tissue for those suffering from chronic liver disease, such as fibrosis. In this study, the researchers interviewed 306 people about their coffee intake. They were divided into groups: those without signs of fibrosis (the control group), those with steatosis and those with fatty liver not caused by alcohol (NASH) stages 0-1 and 2-4.

Patients with steatosis who drank coffee showed a significant difference, compared to stage 0-1 NASH patients. Coffee consumption was higher among NASH stage 0-1 patients, with 58% reporting that they had a regular intake of coffee, compared to 36% of stage 2-4 patients.

According to the experts, more tests and research are needed to determine what quantities are needed for any clinical differences to be made.
